With a population of less than 200, Loucna is the second smallest permanently inhabited village in the Czech Republic. Accordingly, you will be able to enjoy a very relaxing holiday amidst the pastoral mountain scape. The Polava river gently streams throughout the village, forming the natural state border between Germany and the neighbouring Oberwiesenthal. The name of this former mining town comes at no coincidence: Extensive mountain pastures, partly declared conservation areas, smooth ranges of hills and the ridges, shape the village amidst the charming mountain silhouette. the serene landscape offers the perfect setting for walks in winter, as wells as cross-country skiing tours throughout the the bottom of the valley. Above that, Loučná pod Klínovcem is ideally situated in order to take advantage of the various athletic activities in the surrounding areas. Aside from skiing these include snow tubing, snow kiting, driving the snow mobile or snow cat, as well as skiing tours or hiking trips on the Keilberg and Fichtelberg. This varied and active recreational program is settled by tranquil evenings in the deeply cosy mountain village.

Bohemian Ore Mountains

The Bohemian Ore Mountains lie on the Czech part of the mountain range, which borders with the German state of Saxony. The world-famous central mountain range in Saxony and Bohemia is especially know for it's unique landscape and rich culture and long tradition of ore mining and Christmas wood carvings, such as the candle arch bows and the little piper men. Visitors benefit from the vast woody hiking terrain and the magnificent cross-country skiing area, and of course Alpine skiing is possible here, too. On the border, around the highest peak Klínovec (1,244 m), as well as around the Fichtelberg (1,215 m) there are various attractive ski areas, whereby the local area of Boží Dar at the Neklid is most important winter sports centre in this region.
